Social Engagement Data Recently Acquired by Google, PostRank

Upon reading about google had acquired PostRank from several social medias (ie mashable and techcrunch) I became curious. What is PostRank all about?

To answer that, I go to their homepage. The welcome screen says "We are excited to announce that PostRank has been acquired by google!" (yeah, you CAN'T be more excited...) to proof the truth of the news. Well back to the PostRank all about, from their definition, PostRank is "The social web connects people where they share, critique and interact with content and each other. PostRank is the largest aggregator of social engagement data in the industry. Our platform tracks where and how users engage, and what they pay attention to — in real-time. PostRank social engagement data measures actual user activity, the most accurate indicator of the relevance and influence of a site, story, or author". Quite interesting.

The announcement

So, basically they have two 'Intelligence' products, Publisher Analytics and PostRank Labs. The Publisher Analytics is the functions to... well, why can't I use it? when I clicked on the "Join Our Beta List" Button they ask me to fill some form and nothing happen. Hmm, maybe I'll try again later... Anyway, just continue on the next, The PostRank Labs is the product where they develop widgets, plugins, mash-ups and some other open sources with unique names such as silverlining, bloomfiter, em-synchrony, gmetric etc which are worth to try. For example in PR+google reader widget they integrate the google reader with PostRank, so it easier to see feeds from google reader and with PostRank analysis you can see which is worth to read.

So overall this site has some useful features and surely some fresh ideas, no wonder google acquired them... So visit them at www.postrank.com, have a goodd day!
